it is possible to gain a better understanding of the best practices of financial reporting in the sector that can be shared with other stations in the country,
but also abroad with the objective of finding solutions to overarching challenges. The findings also help demystify ongoing myths surrounding the financial
situation of the sector in relation to technology, training and audience research. It is hoped that by offering a more holistic approach to studying community
radio by including the financial structure of reporting along with evidence from those involved in funding and programming will offer a more realistic
portrait of the sector for all stakeholders in the industry and researchers worldwide.
